In the end of the year it's interesting to sum and to look, how rates in St Petersburg hotels changed within this year. Obviously, June was the hottest month for tourists and St Petersburg hotels. Prices were very high both in luxury hotels and in more democratic accommodation. The average price for one night staying in Petersburg hotels in June started from $550. Such rates were normal for standard room in superior hotels of small luxury hotels (for example Hotel Alexander House Old City). Minimum prise in hotels of St Petersburg in June was nearly $150. This rate was offered by mini hotels or home-stay hotels of a category two or three stars. And it was a great luck fou tourists to find in June hotel in St Petersburg with the rack rate $150! The same price situation was in the first part of July, but by the end of White Nights racks in St Petersburg hotels become a bit lower. At the end of July the average rack in hotels of St Petersburg was around $300. But minimum prise was not changed a lot – it was nearly $130. By the middle of august rates became even more accessible: average price for one night stay in August was not higher than $280, minimum price – nearly $125. Such reduction of prices in comparison with June makes visit to St Petersburg in August very possible and accessible for those, who does not want or cannot spend much money. In September rates in St Petersburg hotels didn't fall, and on the contrary: it increased in connection with increase in business activity in the city. Minimum price for staying in a hotel for one night was practically the same – about $125. The average rack reached $290. October is the last rather tourist month in Petersburg. It's cold and windy outside and the most part of tourists, who wish to look at the city and to walk around it, leaves. So, in October rates in St Petersburg hotels started to decrease. The average rack was not higher what $270, the minimum price did not exceed $100. Thus for this money it was possible to book very comfortable and smart mini-hotel in the centre of the city, very close to main attractions, sights and business centres. At the beginning of November rates definitively dropped. The average price for one night in hotel of St Petersburg in November 2008 was nearly $200. Minimum rack decreased to $95 and broke psychologically important for tourists barrier. In December rates was in the same level and presumably will start to increase only in the end of April 2009. |
